Eden Field Hockey Opens 2026 With Senior Midfield Production Back

Eden enters the 2026 field hockey season with a 14-player roster and a schedule that should give the group an early test across September.

The roster includes two seniors: midfielder Morgan Cooper and defender Jonna Grieco. Cooper gives Eden its clearest returning production, coming off a 2025 season in which she recorded 10 goals and three assists. Grieco is listed as a defender.

Junior Gracie Ballard is another returning player with scoring production in the prior-season data. Ballard, listed as a forward/midfielder, scored five goals in 2025. Shelby Gawron, a sophomore forward, also had a goal last season.

Eden's listed junior group includes Ballard, Shaelin Abdo, Shaylyn Anderson and goalkeeper Mary Kauzala. The sophomore group includes Mallory Ritz, Gawron and Alison Thiel, while the Class of 2030 group includes Aleja Rusiecki, Francesca Archabald, Adalynn Hunter, Charlotte Gernatt and Marleigh Gill.

The early schedule sends Eden to West Seneca on Sept. 14, Clarence on Sept. 16 and Amherst on Sept. 24. Eden opens at home against Sweet Home on Sept. 8, before that road stretch. The team then returns home for back-to-back late-September games against Hamburg on Sept. 28 and Orchard Park on Sept. 30.

October brings another run of dates, including an Oct. 7 trip to Pioneer, an Oct. 9 home game against Lancaster, an Oct. 14 home game against Williamsville South and an Oct. 15 road game at Iroquois. Eden is also scheduled to host Holland/East Aurora on Oct. 17 and Starpoint on Oct. 19 before closing the schedule at Williamsville North on Oct. 21 and Williamsville East on Oct. 23.

With Amy Masciale listed as head coach and Eric Cooper listed as assistant coach, Eden's preseason picture is built around an experienced senior midfielder, prior scoring production and a schedule that ramps up quickly in September.
