Barker Field Hockey Enters 2026 With Proven Defensive Experience

Barker Central School begins the 2026 field hockey season with a roster that has several players who have already logged varsity production and a schedule that gives Barker little time to ease in.

The clearest foundation comes in goal, where Adeline Atwater, a Class of 2028 goalkeeper, returns after a 2025-26 season in which she recorded 103 saves. Her line gives Barker an experienced option behind a roster that also lists Naomi Bish, a Class of 2027 defender/goalkeeper, and Lexi Brazzel, a Class of 2028 attack/midfield/goalkeeper.

Sophia Pavlock, a Class of 2028 attack, had six goals and one assist in 2025-26, the strongest returning offensive production in the published 2025-26 statistics. Milayna May added two goals and one assist, Elise Monaco had two goals and two assists, and Jillian Maines supplied one goal, three assists and two defensive saves.

Barker also has senior class presence with Brooke Weber, Faith Bowerman, Lauren Zglinicki and Bish listed as Class of 2027 players. The rest of the roster is built heavily from the Class of 2028, including Atwater, Monaco, Lilly Reyes, Brazzel, Pavlock, Addisyn Weller, Xyon Weese, Maines and May. Autumn Lewis is listed in the Class of 2029.

Karin Menz is listed as Barker's head coach, with Bill Moeller and Shelby Watry as assistant coaches and Jeff Costello as modified head coach.

Barker's 2026 schedule opens with a road date against Pioneer before home and away matchups begin to stack up. Barker is scheduled to host Wilson on Sept. 10, Nichols on Sept. 14 and Newfane on Sept. 22, with road games at Roy-Hart, Kenmore, Wilson, Akron and Starpoint also on the September slate. October brings home games against Nardin, Roy-Hart, Kenmore and Akron before road trips to Newfane and Medina.
