Williamsville South Boys Volleyball Preseason Preview
Williamsville South enters the 2026 boys volleyball season with experienced returners across several positions for coach Thom Knab. The group gives South a foundation for a schedule that brings early September tests and a steady mix of home and road matches through late October.
Riley Bing, a Class of 2027 libero, brings multiple seasons of varsity experience and gives South a familiar defensive name. The outside group includes Owen Nalbach, Dylan Hutchinson, Alessio Dragone, Owen Carrow, Euan Good, Mathias Fajardo and Karter Appleby, giving the team several listed options on the pins.
In the middle, Justin Meyer and Alex Newmark are listed at middle hitter, while Wyatt Schnelle is listed at middle blocker. Nathan Nguyen and Ethan Wing are both listed as setter/right-side options, giving Knab flexibility as the offense takes shape.
South opens Sept. 1 at Maryvale, then returns home for back-to-back early matches against West Seneca West on Sept. 8 and Starpoint on Sept. 10. The first road stretch includes Amherst on Sept. 15 and St. Francis on Sept. 22.
Late September brings another useful checkpoint, with Hutch Tech visiting Williamsville South on Sept. 24 before a Sept. 28 home match against Williamsville East. October includes two matches with Hamburg, trips to West Seneca West, North Tonawanda and Starpoint, and a final listed match at Williamsville East on Oct. 28.
