West Seneca West 2026 Football Preview

West Seneca West has a clear returning statistical core for Mike Vastola's 2026 team: a young quarterback with a full varsity season behind him, productive receivers back on the outside and several front-seven pieces with prior-year production.

Mason Anderson is a sophomore quarterback, and his ninth-grade numbers give West Seneca West a strong place to start. In 2025, Anderson completed 124 passes for 1,499 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also ran for 353 yards and 12 touchdowns, giving the offense production both through the air and on the ground.

That passing game returns several targets with prior varsity numbers. Alex Quarantello, a junior WR/DB, caught 31 passes for 334 yards and two touchdowns in 2025 while also making an impact in the secondary. Gabe Santos, a senior WR/DB, added 20 catches for 292 yards and one touchdown.

Owen Koziol also fits into that group as a junior WR/DB. He caught three passes for 81 yards in 2025 and made 25 tackles, three tackles for loss, four passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Two-Way Production To Build Around

Micah Anderson gives West Seneca West one of its strongest returning two-way profiles. The senior RB/LB rushed for 210 yards and one touchdown in 2025, then added 44 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries on defense.

Up front, Isaac DeJesus brings production from the defensive line. The junior OL/DL had 15 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown in 2025.

Denzel Cenatus, a senior OL/DL, adds another experienced line piece after recording 21 tackles, two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 2025. Jack Bagley, a senior OL/LB, had 17 tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack last season.

Quarantello's defensive numbers stand out, too. In 2025, he made 32 tackles, six tackles for loss, forced one fumble, recovered two, intercepted nine passes and scored a defensive touchdown. That gives West Seneca West a returning playmaker on both sides of the ball.

Schedule Landmarks

West Seneca West is scheduled to open Sept. 4 at home against Kenmore West at West Seneca West High School's WS Stadium, then travel Sept. 11 to Niagara Wheatfield.

The home schedule continues Sept. 19 against Clarence before a Sept. 26 road game at Orchard Park. October starts with back-to-back road games at Sweet Home on Oct. 2 and Frontier on Oct. 9.

West Seneca West closes the listed regular-season schedule at home, hosting Williamsville North on Oct. 16 and West Seneca East on Oct. 23.

For West Seneca West, the shape of the season starts with the players already tied to prior varsity production. If the sophomore year for Mason Anderson builds on last fall, Quarantello and Santos again provide receiving options, and the front keeps getting plays from Micah Anderson, DeJesus and Cenatus, the roster has a clear base for the 2026 schedule.
