Lauren Toohey had a goal and five assists, and Elisabeth Gray scored twice as Lewiston Porter defeated Niagara Wheatfield 7-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Niagara-Wheatfield High School.
Lewiston Porter scored six times in the first half to take control. Lucy Kloosterman, Toohey, Julia Leardini and Sophia Conti each scored before halftime, along with Gray's two goals.
Toohey assisted Kloosterman's goal with 33:56 remaining in the first half and scored off a Leardini assist with 28:20 left. Toohey also set up Leardini's goal with 27:32 remaining and both of Gray's goals, which came with 8:22 and 3:50 left in the half.
Mara Pallaci completed the scoring with 37:27 remaining in the second half, giving Toohey her fifth assist. Leardini finished with a goal and an assist, while Conti's goal was her first of the season.
Olivia Myers and Savannah Smith shared the shutout for Lewiston Porter. Each goalkeeper played 40 minutes and made one save without allowing a goal.
Through Wednesday's contest, Toohey had 12 goals and eight assists for 32 points this season. Gray had nine goals and 11 assists for 29 points, while Pallaci reached 10 goals.
The victory brought Lewiston Porter to 9-1-1 overall and 3-0 in Niagara Frontier play. Niagara Wheatfield fell to 2-9 overall and 1-3 in the division.
