Overview

  • Senior middle hitter Amina Hunt and senior libero Christina Hnem return with varsity experience.
  • Freshman setter Elena Go returns after gaining varsity experience as an eighth-grader.
  • The front-row mix includes Amina Hunt and Sani Flint in the middle, Tonya Lewis on the outside and Fiona Safford-Cameron and Suzan Welday on the opposite side.
  • Tapestry's schedule opens Sept. 1 against Cleveland Hill, then continues with early September tests against Alden and Eden.
  • Buffalo Academy of Science, JFK and Holland each appear twice on the fall schedule, giving Tapestry several repeat-matchup checkpoints.

Tapestry begins the 2026 girls volleyball season with returning experience across several positions under head coach Dominic Argenio. The team finished 4-9 in 2025-26.

The senior group includes libero Christina Hnem, middle hitter Amina Hunt, opposite Fiona Safford-Cameron and opposite Suzan Welday. Tonya Lewis and Sani Flint are juniors at outside hitter and middle hitter, respectively, while Hser Lwae is a sophomore defensive specialist.

Freshman setter Elena Go returns after gaining varsity experience as an eighth-grader.

The front-row picture gives Tapestry several pieces to sort through as the season develops. Hunt and Flint are middle options, Lewis gives the roster an outside hitter, and Safford-Cameron and Welday give Tapestry options on the opposite side. Defensively, Hnem and Lwae give the roster players identified in libero and defensive specialist roles.

The schedule starts quickly. Tapestry is set to open Sept. 1 against Cleveland Hill, visit Alden on Sept. 10 and travel to Eden on Sept. 14. Tapestry also has home-and-away dates with Buffalo Academy of Science, JFK and Holland, creating a regular set of measuring points through October.

Tapestry closes the regular-season schedule with a compact stretch that includes Holland on Oct. 15 and Oct. 19, followed by JFK on Oct. 20.
