Sweet Home rallies past West Seneca East in four sets

Sweet Home recovered from an opening-set loss to defeat West Seneca East 3-1 in girls volleyball Wednesday at West Seneca East High School.

After West Seneca East took the first set 25-12, Sweet Home won three consecutive sets by two points apiece. A 27-25 second-set victory evened the match, and Sweet Home moved ahead with a 25-23 win in the third before closing out the contest 27-25 in the fourth.

Khloe Michalski led Sweet Home with 14 kills and 34 digs, adding three aces and two blocks. Paige Bellanti contributed 25 digs, while Addison Corigliano recorded 11 assists and five digs.

Morgan Brand had four aces, five assists and seven digs. Skye Mack supplied five kills, three aces, 10 digs and one block, and Samantha Mullen finished with four kills, two aces and eight digs. Alyssa Phillips added three kills, two aces and seven digs.

Through Wednesday's match, Michalski had 57 kills and 96 digs on the season, while Corigliano had 57 assists.

Sweet Home improved to 4-6 overall and stood fifth in ECIC 2 with a 0-5 division record. West Seneca East fell to 4-4 overall and stood second in ECIC 3 at 3-0 in division play. The cross-division result left both division records unchanged.
