Sweet Home rallied from a two-set deficit to defeat Alden 3-2 in girls volleyball on Oct. 6 at Sweet Home High School.
Alden took the opening set 25-19 and followed with a 25-17 victory to move within one set of winning the match. Sweet Home responded with a 25-16 win in the third set, then took the fourth 25-20 to force a deciding fifth set.
Sweet Home completed the comeback with a 15-9 victory in the finale, winning three consecutive sets after dropping the first two.
The cross-division result brought Sweet Home to 5-6 overall. Sweet Home stood fifth in the ECIC 2 standings with a 0-5 division record. Alden fell to 7-4 overall and stood second in ECIC 5 at 5-2 in division play, sharing that division record with third-place Cleveland Hill.
