Overview

  • Sweet Home's clearest preseason foundation comes from its 2025-26 production: Sophia Michalski had 114 kills, 156 digs and 40 aces, while Khloe Michalski added 59 kills and 108 digs as an eighth grader.
  • Skye Mack gives the front row a proven middle presence after posting 54 kills and 43 blocks in 2025-26.
  • Alyssa Phillips and Lily Nitcher add experienced senior depth after Phillips recorded 26 kills and 65 digs and Nitcher had 51 digs last season.
  • Sweet Home opens Sept. 9 against Starpoint and visits Williamsville North on Sept. 10 before hosting Mount St. Mary Academy on Sept. 14.

Sweet Home enters the 2026 girls volleyball season with a group that has several productive varsity returners after a 6-12 finish in 2025-26.

Senior outside hitter Sophia Michalski returns after a junior season in 2025-26 that finished with 114 kills, 156 digs, 40 aces, 16 assists and five blocks. Her production gives Sweet Home a proven source of offense and back-row value entering the new season.

Khloe Michalski also brings a significant returning line after contributing 59 kills, 108 digs, 12 aces and nine blocks as an eighth grader last season. Now a freshman outside hitter/middle blocker, she is one of the younger players on the roster with a full varsity season already in the record.

In the middle, junior Skye Mack is back after recording 54 kills and 43 blocks in 2025-26. That blocking total was a major part of Sweet Home's front-row production last season and gives the team another experienced piece near the net.

Sweet Home also has senior returners around that core. Alyssa Phillips, a senior right-side/outside hitter, had 26 kills and 65 digs last season. Lily Nitcher, a senior defensive specialist, added 51 digs.

Victoria Rigler is Sweet Home's head coach. The team is scheduled to begin with Starpoint on Sept. 9 and a trip to Williamsville North on Sept. 10, then continue September with Mount St. Mary Academy, Williamsville East, Hamburg, Lockport, Cleveland Hill, West Seneca West, Starpoint and West Seneca East.

October brings Alden, Amherst, another matchup with Williamsville East, Hamburg, Newfane, West Seneca West and JFK as Sweet Home works through a schedule with several familiar opponents from recent seasons.
