Starpoint opened with a 25-11 victory before Amherst took the second set, 25-22, to tie the match. Starpoint regained the lead with a 25-13 third-set win and closed the match with a 25-19 fourth set.
The win brought Starpoint to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in Division 2A. Amherst fell to 1-6 overall and 1-3 in the division. Starpoint was fourth and Amherst eighth in the division standings through Thursday's contest.
