Spartans Set For 2026 Start

Starpoint enters the 2026 boys volleyball season with a roster that has a clear upperclassman presence and several younger players already connected to varsity experience.

The Spartans, coached by Alex Keller, went 9-11 in the 2025-26 season according to HighSchoolSports.org published results. This fall’s group has a chance to build around players who were part of that recent varsity picture while continuing to define roles across the floor.

That starts with the senior class. Andrew English is listed at outside hitter, Noah Anthony at defensive specialist/outside hitter, Nate Cooney at middle/setter, Tyler Schmidt at libero/outside hitter and Grant Benedict at right side. English, Anthony, Schmidt and Benedict return with varsity experience, while Cooney adds another senior option.

Junior Rocco Prezioso is listed as a setter, giving the Spartans a key player to watch in how the offense takes shape. Junior Rasson Humphrey adds a right-side/defensive-specialist option, while the Class of 2029 group includes Maksym Wojciechowski at outside hitter/defensive specialist, Jayden Zawada at outside hitter, Andrew Santo in the middle and Mason Milleville in the middle.

Schedule Landmarks

Starpoint’s schedule begins quickly, with three matches in three days: Sept. 8 at Williamsville North, Sept. 9 at home against St. Francis and Sept. 10 at Williamsville South.

The Spartans then get a home run from Sept. 16-18 against West Seneca West, North Tonawanda and Hamburg. A four-match road stretch follows against Lockport, Kenmore, Amherst and Williamsville East before Starpoint hosts Williamsville East on Oct. 7.

October also brings home dates with Lancaster on Oct. 14 and Williamsville South on Oct. 15, a match with Jamesville Dewitt at Clarence on Oct. 17, and late road trips to West Seneca West and Hamburg. Starpoint closes the listed schedule Oct. 28 at home against Amherst.
