Rogers ran for two touchdowns in Gowanda/Pine Valley win over CSP

Zane Rogers rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns as Gowanda/Pine Valley defeated CSP 18-14 in football on Oct. 16 at Gowanda Central School.

CSP led 6-0 after the first quarter before Gowanda/Pine Valley drew even with six points in the second. The home team took a 12-6 lead in the third quarter. Gowanda/Pine Valley added six points in the fourth, while CSP scored eight, leaving the hosts with a four-point victory.

Rogers needed 13 carries for his 145 yards. Cayden Redford supplied 52 yards and a touchdown on 10 attempts, and Reginald Irion added 59 yards on 10 carries. Jayden Fish completed two of five passes for 62 yards, with Drew Reid catching a 49-yard pass and Kyan Austin adding a 13-yard reception.

Elliott Graham and Isaiah Washington each finished with 10 total tackles. Redford had seven total tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Austin and Cam Howard also recovered fumbles, and Damien Cedri recorded an interception.

Gowanda/Pine Valley improved to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in C South, tied for sixth in the standings through Oct. 16. CSP fell to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in league play, part of a four-way tie for second.
