Research Laboratory enters the 2026-27 girls volleyball season with an upperclass-heavy roster and a quick start to the schedule.
The team includes six seniors: Elizabeth Bainbridge, Christina Dozier, Phoenix Haywood, Aryanna Heath, Treynce Luchey and Jewel Smith. The junior class includes Nicole Gable, Janelle Grissom and Jayla Meacham.
All nine players have prior varsity experience under head coach Ellen Stott.
Research Laboratory opens Sept. 14 against MEC/Bennett at Bennett High School, then plays its home opener Sept. 16 against MST at Harvey Austin School. The September schedule also includes Performing Arts, Burgard, Riverside, Leonardo da Vinci and East Community.
The team will see several opponents twice, including MEC/Bennett, MST, Performing Arts, Burgard, Riverside, Leonardo da Vinci and East Community. The regular-season finale is scheduled for Oct. 20 against East Community at East High School.
Research Laboratory went 0-13 in 2025-26 after finishing 2-11 in 2024-25 and 6-11 in 2023-24.
