Portville Cuba-Rushford Bolivar-Richburg 2026 Football Preview
Josh Brooks and his staff have had time to build together, and Portville Cuba-Rushford Bolivar-Richburg enters 2026 with that continuity still in place.
Brooks and his staff are in their ninth year together with PCRBR. The program went 5-4 in 2025, with wins over Allegany-Limestone/Hinsdale, Fredonia, Salamanca, Springville and CSP.
The roster also gives PCRBR a senior-heavy group in several key spots. Peyton Carter is back as a senior QB/DB after throwing for 197 yards and four touchdowns in 2025. Carter also caught three passes for 54 yards and a touchdown last season.
Senior Base
The most proven returning production from 2025 sits on defense. Wenke, a senior TE/LB, made 27 total tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, forced two fumbles and recovered one fumble last season.
Gilchrist, a senior RB/LB, added 25 total tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack in 2025. Askey, a senior OL/DL, had 20 total tackles, one tackle for loss, two sacks and one pass defended. James Gleason, a senior RB/DB, finished with 24 total tackles and two passes defended.
That group gives PCRBR multiple seniors coming off productive defensive seasons.
Front-Seven Depth
Wyatt Tyler gives the 2026 roster another returning defensive lineman with a productive 2025 season behind him. Tyler, a junior OL/DL, made 25 total tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks and recovered a fumble as a sophomore.
Liam Gadley also returns as a junior RB/LB after a 2025 season that included one sack and four total tackles.
With Tyler, Gadley, Logan Englehardt and several younger linemen on the roster, PCRBR has a mix of upperclassmen and younger players around its senior core.
Schedule Landmarks
PCRBR is scheduled to open Sept. 4 at home against Catt Little Valley before back-to-back road games: Sept. 11 at Gowanda/Pine Valley and Sept. 18 at Olean.
October brings two straight home games at Portville Central High School. PCRBR hosts Fredonia on Oct. 9 and Southwestern/Frewsburg on Oct. 16, both scheduled for 7 p.m.
The regular-season schedule closes Oct. 23 at Salamanca at Veterans Park.
With Brooks' staff continuity, Carter back at quarterback and a defensive group led by seniors who produced in 2025, PCRBR enters the season with a clear experienced base to build around.
