Olmsted Opens With Experience, Road-Heavy Start

Olmsted begins the 2026-27 boys volleyball season with a clean slate and a roster that includes several players who have already been through varsity matches.

Coach Natalie Hill's group opens Sept. 17 at Depew, the first of six straight away matches to begin the listed schedule. Olmsted then travels to City Honors on Sept. 22, Riverside on Sept. 30, Hutch Tech on Oct. 5, McKinley on Oct. 7 and Iprep on Oct. 8 before playing its first listed home match Oct. 14 against McKinley.

The returning group is led by seniors Josbel Garcia and Blesses Say, both returning with experience from each of the previous two seasons. Juniors Deven Potwara and David Khant also give Olmsted players with prior varsity experience, while freshman Ziare Harwell enters the season after appearing in matches as an eighth grader in 2025-26.

After the first six matches, Olmsted is scheduled to host McKinley, City Honors, Riverside, Depew, Hutch Tech and Iprep in succession. The final three listed matches come in a six-day span: Depew on Oct. 21, Hutch Tech on Oct. 23 and Iprep on Oct. 26.

Olmsted finished 3-8 in 2025-26 after a 9-2 season in 2024-25, according to HighSchoolSports.org published results. This year's team will try to build its own identity across a schedule that gives it an early road test and a long closing run in its own gym.
