The Olean Huskies enter the 2026 girls soccer season with a younger roster and a clear focus on development in possession.

Coach Dan Freeman said Olean is “a young team with a lot of new players.” The returning group includes Addison Crosson, who Freeman called “a very skilled player,” and Alaina Hirliman, the Huskies’ returning goalkeeper.

Freeman said Olean’s formation will be built around Crosson. She is listed on the roster as a senior defense/midfield player and is one of the team’s captains along with Hirliman. Crosson scored four goals in 2025.

Hirliman returns after a busy 2025 season in goal, when she recorded 94 saves. Freeman described her as a goalkeeper with “solid hands” who “makes great saves,” and later added that she is “very skilled with great hands.”

The Huskies also have several specific roles to watch. Freeman named Sydney Stitt as an incoming or newly featured player who could become an important contributor. He said Alexis Guglielmi is the team’s new sweeper and brings speed and leadership. He also pointed to Coutrney Obergfell as a set-piece threat.

The team’s identity will center on moving the ball. Freeman said he wants the Huskies to be a passing team that can move the ball quickly from the back to the offensive third. He also listed discipline, improved passing and improved shooting among the team’s goals.

Olean’s schedule includes September games against Catt. Little Valley, Falconer/CV/MG, Jamestown, Southwestern and Fredonia, with October matchups against Allegany-Limestone, Jamestown, Falconer/CV/MG, Southwestern and Fredonia.
