Niagara Wheatfield Boys Volleyball Pre-Season Preview

Niagara Wheatfield enters the 2026 boys volleyball season with continuity to lean on under Coach Kyle Burns.

Niagara Wheatfield finished 9-8 in 2025-26, according to HighSchoolSports.org's published results, and the new roster includes a group with varsity experience. That matters for a team trying to settle quickly into September, especially with a schedule that sends Niagara Wheatfield on the road for its opener before bringing key early tests back to the Large Gym.

Aiden Hrotko, a setter in the Class of 2027, is one of the more experienced names in the group, with multiple seasons of varsity experience. Daniel Finn, an outside hitter in the Class of 2027, also returns with prior varsity experience and gives Niagara Wheatfield another senior presence on the pin.

The senior class also includes Davion Anderson, listed at opposite and middle blocker, Dylan Lingle at setter and defensive specialist, and Eric Yousef in the middle. Dylan Idzik, an outside hitter in the Class of 2028, and Owen Zorn, a libero/defensive specialist in the Class of 2028, add younger pieces who also return from last season.

The schedule begins Sept. 9 at CSAT. Niagara Wheatfield's first listed home match is Sept. 17 against Kenmore, followed by a Sept. 21 home date with Grand Island. Niagara Wheatfield then visits North Tonawanda on Sept. 23 before returning home Sept. 29 against Lockport.

October brings another pass through familiar opponents, including CSAT at home on Oct. 6, Grand Island on the road Oct. 16, North Tonawanda at home Oct. 19, and Lockport away Oct. 22. The listed schedule closes Oct. 27 with Niagara Falls visiting Niagara-Wheatfield High School.
