Iroquois Boys Volleyball Pre-season Preview

Iroquois enters the 2026 boys volleyball season with several varsity returners and a schedule that should test the group early.

Coach Harold Goldman's team is coming off a 6-10 season in the 2025-26 results published by HighSchoolSports.org. That followed an 11-8 campaign in 2024-25.

The clearest returning thread starts with senior Grady Lenihan, an outside hitter/defensive specialist in the Class of 2027. Around him, Iroquois has multiple players with varsity experience, including outside hitters Jacob Rubin and Luke Wachowiak, defensive specialist Steven Vaillancourt, middle/setter Trevor Vaillancourt and setter Jack Bednasz.

That mix gives Iroquois positional variety entering the season. Brandon Driver is listed at middle hitter, Nathaniel Dickson at outside hitter, Aidan Enright at right side/outside hitter and Jacob Fulcher at right side, adding options around the net as the rotation takes shape.

The schedule does not wait long to bring measuring points. Iroquois opens the schedule Sept. 9 at Lake Shore, then returns home for matches against West Seneca East on Sept. 14 and St. Francis on Sept. 15. The next week brings consecutive road matches at Cheektowaga on Sept. 23 and Maryvale on Sept. 24.

October includes a home stretch against Lake Shore, Amherst and Cheektowaga from Oct. 6-13 before Iroquois goes to West Seneca East on Oct. 14. The closing portion of the listed schedule sends Iroquois to Sweet Home, Eden/North Collins and Hamburg from Oct. 21-26, then back home Oct. 29 against East Aurora/Holland.
