Iroquois reloads after a senior-heavy class moves on

Iroquois enters 2026 coming off a 16-3 season, but coach Grace Kulniszewski is looking at a different roster after the program graduated 10 seniors.

"A lot of new faces this season after graduating 10 seniors but a great opportunity for younger players to step into important roles for the 2026 season," Kulniszewski said. "Looking to continue our momentum from last season and try to win our division."

The adjustment point is clear. Kulniszewski said Iroquois needs to acclimate 14 new players to the style and competitiveness of varsity soccer. She also sees roster depth as a strength, with enough talent and numbers to maintain a high level through a full game.

The target identity is direct and competitive: tackles, 50/50 balls and constant pressure on opponents. The goals are to have a successful and healthy season, compete for the ECIC III division and reach at least the same playoff point as last year: the semifinals.

Dobmeier and Musial headline the returners

Grace Dobmeier, a Class of 2029 midfielder, is the central returning piece. She had 30 goals and 14 assists in 2025-26, and Kulniszewski expects her to organize the midfield. Dobmeier is also listed as a set-piece threat.

Lena Musial, a Class of 2029 forward, added 10 goals and two assists as a freshman last season.

Kulniszewski also pointed to Aurora Hernandez, Katie Morgan and Dobmeier as captains. Hernandez, a Class of 2027 midfielder/defender, is the returning player she sees as a potential breakout. Morgan, a Class of 2027 forward/midfielder, had two goals and three assists in 2025-26.

Anna McHale, a Class of 2030 midfielder/forward, is the incoming or newly featured player Kulniszewski said could become an important contributor.

Tierney Kramer, a Class of 2027 defender/forward, gives Iroquois another leadership piece. Kulniszewski described Kramer as a major difference maker through her attitude and effort, and said she was a strong piece of the defensive line last year.

In goal, Kulniszewski said Iroquois has a young eighth-grade goalkeeper stepping into the position. Azalea Jones is the Class of 2031 goalkeeper listed on the roster.
