Iroquois earned their first boys volleyball victory of the season Wednesday, defeating Cheektowaga 3-1 at Cheektowaga Central High School.
Iroquois took the opening set 25-11 before Cheektowaga answered with a 25-20 second-set win to even the Division 2B match. Iroquois regained the lead with a 25-20 victory in the third set, then closed the match with a 25-6 fourth set.
The road win brought Iroquois to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in division play. Iroquois stood sixth in Division 2B through Sept. 23, while Cheektowaga was tied for seventh at 0-4 overall and 0-4 in the division.
