Iroquois won the first two sets and finished the match in the fourth to defeat Pioneer 3-1 in girls volleyball on Oct. 15 at Iroquois Central High School.
The hosts took the opener 25-16 and the second set 25-18. Pioneer kept the match going with a 25-20 third set before Iroquois closed with another 25-16 win.
Iroquois improved to 7-2 overall and 7-1 in ECIC 4, placing second in the standings through the contest date. Pioneer fell to 4-8 overall and 2-8 in division play and stood fifth.
