Hamburg Boys Volleyball Pre-season Preview
Hamburg’s 2026 boys volleyball season starts with a senior-heavy core and a schedule that should reveal plenty about the group before October arrives.
Coach Greg Lardo’s roster includes several Class of 2027 players who appear in last season’s Hamburg records, giving the program some continuity after a 9-10 finish in HighSchoolSports.org’s published 2025-26 results. Myles Kull and Logan MacLeod are among the most experienced names on the roster, with Alex Weber and Owen Fera Starnes also back after appearing in last year’s team records.
That group is joined by fellow seniors Kohl Schaefer, Lucas Mascio, Dominic Barile and Alexander Maeweathers. The roster also includes juniors Vaughan Stringham and Salvatore Martoche, along with sophomores Drew Hine and Blake Dinse.
The position mix gives Hamburg a few different pieces to work with. Kull is listed at outside, Weber at libero/setter, Fera Starnes on the right side and MacLeod at libero. How those pieces settle into rotation roles will be one of the early questions for Lardo’s team.
Hamburg’s schedule starts Sept. 3 at Amherst, followed by a Sept. 10 home match against Williamsville East. The road stretch continues with trips to Canisius on Sept. 14, Starpoint on Sept. 18 and Sweet Home on Sept. 23 before Hamburg returns home Sept. 28 against West Seneca West.
October brings a busy home run, including Williamsville South on Oct. 1, Amherst on Oct. 5, Williamsville North on Oct. 8 and Orchard Park on Oct. 9. Hamburg closes the listed schedule with West Seneca West on the road Oct. 28.
