Hamburg Girls Volleyball Pre-Season Preview

Hamburg enters the 2026 girls volleyball season with seven returning varsity players and Michael Jans as head coach.

The roster leans senior, with five Class of 2027 players listed: right sides Sienna Farrell, Ella Lawrence and Jordan Winter, defensive specialist Caelyn Reader and middle Ally Smith. Hamburg also returns two Class of 2028 juniors in outside hitter Taylor Breinlinger and middle Brooke Reese.

That gives Hamburg experience across the front row and back row. The program finished 13-5 in 2025-26, giving this year's group a clear standard as it moves into a new schedule.

Hamburg is scheduled to start with road matches at West Seneca West on Sept. 8 and Williamsville East on Sept. 10 before its home opener against Starpoint on Sept. 15. Sweet Home follows on Sept. 16, and Orchard Park visits Hamburg on Sept. 21.

The late-September stretch includes Lancaster on Sept. 23, a second Williamsville East meeting on Sept. 25, Lake Shore on Sept. 28 and West Seneca West on Sept. 29. Hamburg's October schedule includes Frontier, Eden, Starpoint, Sweet Home and Clarence.
