Grand Island returns several scoring pieces

Grand Island enters the 2026 girls soccer season with returning production from a 2025-26 team that finished 7-9-2.

Mackenzie Gallagher, a Class of 2027 midfielder, brings back the leading historical attacking line among the listed returners. Gallagher had six goals and six assists in 2025-26 after recording three goals and five assists in 2024-25.

Madelyn Urbaniak is listed as a Class of 2027 goalkeeper on the 2026 roster. Her 2025-26 stat line included five goals and two assists, giving Grand Island another returning player with scoring history from last fall.

Brianna Schiffmacher, a Class of 2027 midfielder, added two goals and four assists in 2025-26. Judah Dulak, a Class of 2028 forward, had three goals, while Tiana Magee, a Class of 2027 defender/midfielder, had one goal and two assists.

The 2025-26 production also included Ella Squire with two goals and Nora Rein with two goals and one assist. Karissa Green added one goal and one assist, and Amaya Lundquist had one assist.

Senior-heavy core

Grand Island's roster lists a large Class of 2027 group, including Gallagher, Urbaniak, Schiffmacher, Green, Lundquist, Magee, Gianna Gallegos and Maddie Sugg. That senior class sits around an underclass group that includes returning 2025-26 contributors from the Class of 2028.

The clearest preseason thread is how Grand Island builds around Gallagher's 2025-26 all-around production and the wider group of returning players who were involved in goals last season.
