Frontier Boys Volleyball Pre-season Preview

Frontier enters the 2026 boys volleyball season with a useful blend of recent program momentum and familiar names back in the gym.

HighSchoolSports.org published results show Frontier went 15-4 last season, including wins over Williamsville North, Lancaster, Eden/North Collins, North Tonawanda, Sweet Home and Grand Island before closing with a five-set loss at West Seneca West. That gives coach Nick Penberthy's group a clear recent standard as it turns the page into a new schedule.

Brok Eisenmann, Colton Faust, Jack Brylski and Tanner Rutz each bring multiple seasons of varsity experience at defensive specialist, setter, outside hitter and opposite, respectively. Jackson Faust, Sam Peterson and Brody Fik also return from last season.

Anthony Mascio is listed as a setter alongside Colton Faust, while Jack Brylski and Matt Petrie give Frontier outside hitter options. Sam Peterson and Brody Fik are listed in the middle, Tanner Rutz and Gavin Niedermeier at opposite, and Shawn Singer, Brok Eisenmann and Aadi Patel at defensive specialist. Jackson Faust is listed at libero.

The schedule gives Frontier little time to ease in. The opener is Sept. 1 against Lockport, followed by a Sept. 9 home match with Clarence and a Sept. 11 match against Gilman. Orchard Park visits Sept. 14 before Frontier travels to Williamsville North on Sept. 16.

Later schedule landmarks include Lancaster on Sept. 22 and Oct. 13, West Seneca West on Sept. 25, a second Clarence date on Oct. 2, Hamburg on Oct. 16, back-to-back Sweet Home matches on Oct. 19 and Oct. 20, and the last listed match Oct. 28 at Eden/North Collins.

For a team with recent winning results and experience in several position groups, the preseason question is how quickly Frontier can turn that continuity into rhythm once the matches begin.
