Faulkner, Robinson run South Park to first win, 32-12 over Maritime - Tapestry

South Park built a 24-point lead through three quarters and earned their first win of the season Thursday, defeating Maritime - Tapestry 32-12 in A2 football at All High Stadium.

Davonte Faulkner rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries, while Rashawn Robinson added 58 yards and two touchdowns on 11 attempts. Together, they supplied four rushing scores for South Park.

South Park led 6-0 after the first quarter and added 12 points in the second to take an 18-0 halftime lead. Another six points in the third extended the margin to 24-0. Maritime - Tapestry scored all 12 of their points in the fourth quarter, when South Park added eight.

Faulkner also contributed nine total tackles, an interception and a forced fumble. South Park's coach highlighted him as a standout.

Tyree Johnson intercepted two passes, caught two passes for 35 yards and scored a touchdown. Quarterback AZ Spearson completed six of eight passes for 67 yards and ran for 29 yards on seven carries. Robinson added two catches for 20 yards, and Nas'Zir Spearson caught two passes for 12 yards.

Darien Lidge recorded three sacks, eight total tackles and a forced fumble. Xavier Searlies led South Park with 11 total tackles and added two sacks. Jaylen Brown, DJ Washington and Jayshawn Jones each recorded a sack, while Amare Drake and Maliek Felder each recovered a fumble.

The victory left South Park at 1-3 overall and 1-2 in A2, tied for fifth in the league standings. Maritime - Tapestry fell to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in A2, eighth in the standings.
