Falconer Girls Volleyball Preview

Falconer enters the 2026 girls volleyball season after a 17-4 finish in 2025-26, with four longtime starters to replace.

Coach Marah Micek said the Golden Falcons graduated four seniors who were all four-year starters, creating "some pretty big roles to fill." She described this year's team as young and looking to build, with a focus on competing more confidently as the season develops.

"The primary goal is to continue to build Falconer volleyball and continue to build our confidence in competing throughout the season," Micek said. "Our goal is to be our best and be playing our best volleyball at the end of October."

Kaylee Green gives Falconer a senior captain and one of its most established returning pieces. In 2025-26, Green had 54 kills, 28 blocks, 20 digs and five aces over 21 matches. Micek said Green will look to take on a bigger offensive role this season.

Reagan Trask also returns at setter after starting last year as a freshman with a veteran group around her. Trask recorded 211 assists, 61 digs and 36 aces in 2025-26, and Micek said she will continue to run the offense.

Micek also pointed to Alexis Smith as a newly featured player who could become an important contributor, Skyler Norlander as a player to watch as a primary point scorer and Elayna Barber as the team's starting libero. Green, Trask and Barber are the team's captains.

Falconer's identity starts with the first contact. Micek said serving and passing are the two most important parts of the game to her, and she wants the Golden Falcons to become consistent servers, build their serve receive and be known as "a gritty team that never gives up."

The schedule opens Sept. 1 against Randolph and includes early matches with Jamestown, Dunkirk and Southwestern. Falconer is scheduled to see Dunkirk again Oct. 1, then close the regular-season slate Oct. 22 against Cassadaga Valley.
