Mahoney gives Depew a centerpiece

The Depew Wildcats enter the 2026 girls soccer season with Leo Cintron listed as head coach and a roster that includes several players with production from last fall.

The headliner is Ella Mahoney, a Class of 2029 midfielder. Mahoney had 10 goals and seven assists as a freshman in 2025-26, after recording two assists as an eighth grader in 2024-25. That gives Depew its clearest returning attacking line entering the season.

Depew went 5-10-1 in 2025-26, and Mahoney was part of a young group that produced across the field. Laina Obermeier, a Class of 2030 midfielder, had five goals and one assist as an eighth grader. Ashlyn Guggemos, a Class of 2027 midfielder, had five goals as a junior.

The midfield also brings back passing production. Camryn Domino, a Class of 2027 midfielder, had six assists in 2025-26. Madison Jaskier, another Class of 2027 midfielder, added one goal and four assists.

Eva Triplet, a Class of 2030 forward, had one goal and one assist in 2025-26.

Schedule landmarks

Depew's listed schedule opens Sept. 3 at home against Pioneer, followed by a Sept. 8 road match at East Aurora and a Sept. 12 home date with Roy-Hart/Medina.

The September schedule continues with home matches against Maryvale, Lake Shore and Dunkirk around road trips to Iroquois and Pioneer. October brings home matches with Buffalo Seminary, East Aurora, Cardinal O'Hara, Albion and Iroquois, plus road dates at Maryvale and Lake Shore.

For the Wildcats, the early question is how quickly a roster with young returning production can turn those pieces into a steadier full-season attack.
