CSP Wolfpack 2026 Football Preview
David Bodamer enters his second season as CSP's head coach with a team trying to turn athleticism, a new offensive structure and senior leadership into a Class C playoff push.
"We did not make the playoffs last season in Class C so that is a goal this year," Bodamer said. "We are very underweight up front. Our offensive line averages 190 lbs but we have some speed and athleticism that will hopefully allow us to compete."
Bodamer said CSP has a new offensive coordinator with new sets and ideas. The Wolfpack will remain run-first, but the structure can change week to week.
"We are definitley a run first team with multiple formations," Bodamer said. "We can run spread, I, and some wing. It will depend on how we match up with each opponent."
Foundation And Identity
Bodamer described athleticism as CSP's biggest strength. The next step is execution.
"Attention to detail in doing the little things correctly," Bodamer said. "We have to do the basics very well."
The Wolfpack lost key pieces from last year's team, including linemen, an all-star linebacker, the leading wide receiver and starting quarterback. Bodamer still sees a foundation up front with three returning starters, and he named Toby Watson and Dan Redlecki as linemen who will be important to both sides.
Watson is listed as a senior OL/LB/DL and is expected to handle center duties while also playing some defensive tackle. In 2025, he made 47 total tackles. Redlecki is listed as a junior OL/DL, and Bodamer said he "is not afraid to lead."
Defensively, CSP's identity starts with line-of-scrimmage play and tackling.
"We need to control the line of scrimmage of course and tackle well," Bodamer said. "I believe we can defend the pass but time will tell. Everyone just needs to do their part and trust their teammate."
Players To Watch
Gavin Burchanowski is one of the central names in CSP's season. Bodamer identified him as a breakout candidate and said the senior is stepping into a first-year dual-threat quarterback role.
"He is a very good leader and is in command of our new system," Bodamer said. "He has worked very hard and closely with new Offensive Coordinator Jarret Wiggers."
Burchanowski's previous varsity production came in several areas. In 2025, he caught 33 passes for 407 yards and seven touchdowns, made 36 total tackles, intercepted one pass, forced a fumble and returned 15 kickoffs for 331 yards.
Blake Beckerink is another player Bodamer wants readers to know as he moves into a featured role. Beckerink is listed as a senior WR/DB and brings 2025 production on both sides of the ball after rushing for 134 yards and two touchdowns, catching seven passes for 48 yards, making 36 total tackles and intercepting two passes.
Bryan Gomez joins Burchanowski and Watson among the senior leaders Bodamer called "the glue." Gomez is listed as an OL/LB and is also CSP's special-teams player to watch. In 2025, he made 68 total tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and forced two fumbles.
Hayden Sexton gives CSP another returning skill-position option after catching seven passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns in 2025.
