Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton shut out Fredonia 21-0

Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton held Fredonia scoreless and added two fourth-quarter touchdowns to finish a 21-0 football victory on Oct. 16 at the Orange Bowl.

Head coach Ty Harper said Josh Swan found Ian Kindermann for a 65-yard touchdown for the only score of the first half. The second-quarter score left Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton ahead 7-0, a margin that held through the third quarter. Harper said Tristen Gibbs and Thandon Bensink added touchdown runs in the fourth.

Gibbs rushed for 103 yards on 21 carries and made seven total tackles. Bensink carried 10 times for 57 yards. Swan completed six of 11 passes with a touchdown and made all three extra-point attempts.

“The defense was tremendous, again,” Harper said.

Lance Franklin led Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton with nine total tackles. Lane Scarpine recorded two sacks, Trent Ramm added one, Michael Jauss intercepted a pass and Chase Houser recovered a fumble.

Fredonia's Logan Dowdy recorded 19 total tackles, including 11 solo stops, and recovered two fumbles. Lavonce Donaldson added 10 total tackles, while Ayden Wronski rushed for 64 yards on 15 carries and recorded a sack.

Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton improved to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in C South, sharing second place in the league standings. Fredonia moved to 3-4 overall and 2-4 in league play, in eighth place.
